CO2 storage

One of the possible measures in climate change abatement

CO2 storage is a relatively new concept being carefully studied by the oil and gas sector. In the vivid discussions on the subject of climate change, the storage of CO2 (known as CCS - carbon capture and storage) is seen as one possibility of addressing the climate change challenge. This is a temporary option in a broad pallet of measures that could be taken during transformation to sustainable forms of energy generation. The oil and gas sector could assist in storing CO2. Decision making on this currently is in the hands of government.

NOGEPA has made three studies on the feasibility of CO2 storage in the Netherlands.
