NOGEPA heeft 16 leden en één geassocieerd lid. De leden zijn vergunninghouders voor het opsporen en/of winnen van olie en gas. Daarnaast zijn zij als operator verantwoordelijk voor de daadwerkelijke uitvoering van alle activiteiten. Geassocieerde leden zijn wel vergunninghouders, maar geen operators. 

Bij de aangesloten bedrijven zijn ruim 3.000 mensen werkzaam, zowel onshore als offshore. Plus 3.200 werknemers bij toeleveringsbedrijven. Daarnaast zijn in de offshore sector nog eens ruim 10.000 mensen werkzaam. Jaarlijks wordt door de leden van NOGEPA in Nederland 2 miljoen kubieke meter olie en 75 miljard kubieke meter gas geproduceerd.
